Bill Cote is the owner of BC Video, a New York City based television production company, specializing in reality-based documentary and sustainable programming. Its principals are Bill Cote (director/producer), John Cheshire (writer/producer), and Carol Cote (art director/photograper). They produced, wrote and directed the Network Special, The Mystery of The Sphinx, which was hosted by Charlton Heston, aired on NBC in 1993 and was nominated for two Emmy Awards, winning one for research. It received a 13.5 rating and a 20 share, airing on a Wednesday night, at 9PM.
They also produced and directed another special for NBC, The Mysterious Origins of Man, which was also hosted by Charlton Heston and aired in 1996 on a Sunday Night at 7 PM receiving a 6.2 rating and an 11 share against CBS's 60 Minutes. These shows, produced by BC Video, have stirred considerable controversy and continue to provoke interest on the Internet, in newspapers, magazines and in the classroom.
